The form of development creates strong townscape characteristics and qualities unique to the particular location creating a strong sense of character.  The spatial structure within the design generates places of different characteristics – the lane, the courtyard, the garage court, the central ‘green’ space, the view over the ‘grass’ footpath and a general changing spatial sequence all add to a strong sense of place.

The main access road is characterised and defined by buildings, walls, hedges and grass verges.  The treatment of this access way within the public realm promotes a strong sense of identity in contrast to more conventional speculative housing solutions.
