Longdales Road
Residential
Lincoln

The site is situated within Lincoln along a principal route within the City. Neighbouring dwellings are either semi-detached types from the interwar period, these are repetitive and are symmetrical in the arrangement of their facades or are detached villas that stand alone within their plot having individual traits in their form and detailing.

The development provides 22 dwellings with the aim of maximising the visual interest to the street elevation regardless of each building’s inherent orientation. This is done

through articulation of the façade of the buildings that sit along Longdales Road – to reflect the vertical formality of the existing neighbouring houses and respond to the primary nature of the street and also the use of differing boundary treatments – the boundaries are divided into four modules that respond to the differing orientation of each building and maximise openness where possible.
